Project Sakhi

When we saw Ranveer Singh and Anushka Sharma in Band Baja Baraat talk about “binness karna hai” it seemed like all of that happened only on the big screen. But, today a dream wedding takes more than just two families to set up the task.

In today’s Sakhi Kahaniya, I want you to meet Sakshi Kohli an #entreprenuer who weaves magical weddings with her creativity and emotions.

“When you have an Economics degree, you’d probably look forward to working as an Investment Analyst, Data Analyst, or Financial Advisor. So, it was only natural that the reactions weren’t all favourable when I announced that I would become a Wedding Planner.

As I ventured into a path I had only dreamt of, I found myself ridden with some self-doubt. It may have all stemmed from past experiences and some unsupportive people in my environment. But as time passed, I became confident in the work I put forward.

Owing to my talent, I was able to bag the opportunity to work with some prominent event management corporations. However, I wanted more from life, in terms of freedom and challenges alike and soon found myself ready to start off on my own.

So, as a young entrepreneur who had just started building connections, I took a leap of faith and founded my own company, Charmed Event Station. While it was not easy, I was sure this was something I wanted to do.

For over two years, I built my independent venture by working part-time. And soon, as I found channelled success, I channelled my belief into action and decided to turn it into a full-time venture. With no will to turn back and the urge to go all in, I worked hard

Surrounded by positive outcomes and encouraging friends and family, even the insecurities and self-doubt as a new entrepreneur started to feel trivial. It is just the beginning and I have a long way to go but I am so ready for all the opportunities coming my way, big and small but most importantly, ones that give me a true sense of fulfillment.

I am eternally inspired by my mother. My constant supporters, throughout my career shift as well as my entrepreneurial journey, my parents, and my partner motivated me, whenever I felt low and I owe a big part of it to them.

I am adamant to make a mark by putting hard work into everything I do. Enthusiastic to create weddings that people can cherish forever, I look forward to putting my experience into being a successful and empathetic wedding planning company in the coming years.”
